Job summary

Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company is seeking a detail-oriented scheduler with healthcare experience to coordinate in-office procedures and verify patient insurance details. The role includes managing authorizations, scheduling, and communicating financial information to patients.

Experience in call centers and familiarity with HIPAA guidelines are valuable, with preference for spinal cord, kyphoplasty, or imaging exposure. This position is on-site in the Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the healthcare field is required with previous call center experience preferred.
• Minimum one year in scheduling or insurance verification.
• Experience in Spinal Cord, Kyphoplasty, and Imaging is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules in-office procedures within the required time as designated by policies.
• Updates patient demographics and insurance eligibility and authorizations for claims processing.
• Provides ongoing communication with patients regarding authorization, financial counseling, and scheduling.

Essential Function

• - Schedules in-office procedures within the required time as designated by the department policies and procedures.
• - Updates and confirms patient demographic information and insurance eligibility; updates and confirms necessary information including authorization requirements to allow successful processing of claims to insurance plans.
• - Provides ongoing communication with the patient(s) regarding authorization, financial counseling, and scheduling.
• - Responds to the patient(s) questions and complaints as required, resolving problems and maintaining high patient satisfaction levels.
• - Communicates clinical instructions needed for appointments/procedures.
• - Answer and resolve incoming calls and requests in a timely, accurate manner. Triage and relay necessary messages to appropriate staff members.
• - Ensures that canceled appointments and related ancillary appointments are canceled and communicated to all stakeholders.
• - Accurately updates patient information in the practice management system and EMR. Performs all required documentation of work completed.
• - Ensure strict confidentiality of all health records, member information, and meet HIPAA guidelines.
• - Other duties as assigned.
