Job summary

Talentify in Savannah, GA is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to receive procedure requests, coordinate exam times per protocol, and balance patient convenience with department needs. You will collect and validate patient demographics, insurance info, authorizations, and ensure CPT/RIS data is accurate.

• Position Summary

  • The Scheduling Specialist will receive requests for procedures, coordinate the exam times per protocol with convenience considered for the patients and departments. - Collect and validate high quality Patient Demographics, Guarantor Insurance info, Authorizations, Resource availability, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9 codes . Practice phone etiquette and develop a relationship with various physician offices. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.

  • 1-2 Years medical office terminology - Required
  • 1-2 Years Demonstrated ability to work under stress. Ability to follow written protocol/procedures/policies - Preferred
  • 1-2 Years Demonstrated exceptional service in-person and over the phone; think critically, multi-task and work - Preferred
  • 1-2 Years EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and RIS (Radiology Information Systems) - Preferred
  • Medical Assistant/Secretary, Unit Secretary, Surgical Technician, Imaging Support Specialist or Imaging Scheduler - Preferred.

  • Ensures accurate scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations and verification of the patients appointment with the correct MD, modality, special equipment and studies. Repeats appointment date, time and location prior to ending call. Schedules interpreters for patients as needed.
  • Meets department production standards. Meets department quality standards
  • Communicates timely with the appropriate department/staff all pertinent appointment information. Effectively provide patient's and physician office staff scheduling guidelines and protocols. Verify MD written orders via RtFa.
  • Compliant with accessing and extracting confidential patient information for acquiring insurance authorizations. Clear, precise communication.
  • Answers telephones and call lights, screening and prioritizing. Assists Nurses and Resource Coordinator with communication with doctor's offices. Obtains appropriate documentation and forms for surgical charts.
