Job summary

Savista is seeking a Pro Fee Coder to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes to support hospital data retrieval and billing.

You will validate APC calculations, abstract data, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while collaborating with client staff.

Candidates should have AHIMA or AAPC credentials, at least two years of coding experience, and proficiency with MS Office; EPIC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or CPC/COC) required.
• At least two years of hands-on coding experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding sets.
• Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality thresholds (95%).
• Experience with data entry and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes for designated patient types.
• Review facility records to ensure APC assignments reflect documented diagnoses/procedures.
• Abstract clinical data from records to support diagnoses and discharge disposition.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborate with client staff for data integrity and coding queries.
• Stay current with ICD-10/CPT guidelines and regulatory changes.
