Job summary

Akumin is hiring an MRI Technologist for Tampa, FL and surrounding facilities on a PRN basis. The role focuses on producing high quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and adherence to imaging protocols.

You will work across multiple Akumin locations, maintain EMR/PACS proficiency, and participate in ongoing competency training. The ideal candidate has ARRT MR certification or ARMRIT allowed by contract, ARRT MR preferred, and a minimum of 3 years technologist experience with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification allowed by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable, required.
• CPR/BLS required; ACLS where applicable.
• Valid state driver’s license if applicable.
• Minimum 3 years technologist experience.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnostic images per imaging protocols and ARRT/ARMRIT standards.
• Maintain competency across MRI equipment and injection protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists; protect patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EMR/PACS/DICOM systems for image sharing.
• Train and orient technologists and assistants as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
