Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead large, multidisciplinary infrastructure programs within our Transportation group. You will advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects, guiding deliverables and program governance across multiple locations.

As part of HDR’s Transportation Leadership team, you will mentor teams, manage risk, and drive performance while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes on iconic projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field.
• Professional licenses/certifications: PE/P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, or CCM.
• Ten years of program management experience, including at least four years as a Senior Program Manager, and in delivering three or more programs each valued at $500M+.
• Experience with alternative delivery methods (DBIA, P3, DBFOM, EPC) and leading large programs.
• Willingness to travel regularly and commute to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Assume leadership responsibilities for the management of multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community facets of infrastructure programs; leverage lessons learned and industry best practices.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of program execution across disciplines including planning/design, procurement, scheduling, and risk management.
• Identify issues and risks; provide strategic guidance and resource deployment to address challenges.
• Develop and implement program management plans, startup/work plans, and tools to drive efficiency and alignment.
• Direct services provided by multiple large program teams or lead a mega-project; promote clear communication.
• Ensure contract compliance and monitor performance with robust QA/QC and financial controls.
• Support growth of HDR’s program management services and pursuit of new opportunities.
