Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead multi-discipline infrastructure programs, delivering high-profile projects. You will guide planning, design, and construction teams, ensuring risk management and client satisfaction across complex programs.

You will help drive program governance, schedule adherence, and cost control while mentoring staff and expanding HDR's transportation practice. HDR offers employee ownership and opportunities to influence mobility for communities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field.
Licenses/certifications: PE or P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, or CCM.
A minimum of ten (10) years of program management experience, with at least four (4) years as a Senior Program Manager, and experience delivering three or more programs, each with a capital value of $500 million or more.
Strong leadership skills with experience building a cohesive team culture and managing team members located in various locations.
Excellent communication skills. Comfortable presenting to client executives and in front of a large audience in a public setting.
Experience delivering projects with alternative delivery methods: DB, PDB, CMAR.
Familiar with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management, asset management, dashboard analytics.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with a high degree of technical complexity and non-technical intricacies.
Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community facets of infrastructure programs and apply lessons learned.
Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of program execution across disciplines such as planning/design management, construction, cost control, risk, and scheduling.
Identify issues and risks, provide strategic advice, and help with problem-solving and timely decisions.
Develop and implement program management plans, startup plans, and tools to drive efficiency and alignment.
Direct services by large program teams or lead day-to-day on a mega-project.
Promote team alignment through regular, clear communications.
Ensure resources and contract compliance.
Monitor financial performance and manage earnings and profitability targets.
Mentor and train staff, pursue new contract opportunities, and support practice-wide initiatives.
