Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead large, complex infrastructure programs within its Transportation Business Group. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, shape program strategy, and guide delivery from initiation to close, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time performance.

You will advise clients on technical and regulatory aspects, coordinate resources, manage risk, and drive efficiencies across programs such as highway, bridge, rail, and transit projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or closely related field.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or closely related field
• Licenses/certifications recognized by licensing boards: PE/P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, CCM

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community facets of programs.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify issues and risks; provide strategic advice and lead problem-solving.
• Develop and implement program management plans, startup plans, and work plans.
• Direct services by large program teams or single mega-project; ensure alignment and governance.
