Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager in the United States (Charlotte, NC or other listed locations) to lead major transportation programs. You will drive complex, multi-disciplinary projects, mentor teams, and ensure project success from planning to delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or closely related field.
• Professional licenses/certifications: PE, PMP, PgMP, AICP, CCM.
• Minimum 10 years program management exp; 4+ years as a Senior PM; lead three+ programs each $500M+.
• Strong leadership and cross-location team-building abilities.
• Excellent communication; comfortable presenting to executives and large audiences.
• Experience with DB, PDB, CMAR delivery methods.
• Familiar with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management, and dashboard analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects of programs.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across many disciplines.
• Identify risks; provide strategic problem-solving and timely decisions.
• Develop and implement program management plans, startup plans, and work plans.
• Direct services provided by large program teams or on mega-projects.
• Promote team alignment and regular, clear communications.
• Ensure resources and contract compliance; monitor QA/QC and financial performance.
• Contribute to growth of HDR’s program management practice and client relationships.
