Jabil is seeking a Principal Engineer for Low Voltage Switchgear Mechanical in Prince George, VA. You will act as the senior technical authority for mechanical architecture, design governance, validation strategy, and lifecycle support of LV switchgear products.

You will lead cross-program technical decisions and define mechanical standards across global teams. The role requires deep expertise in system-level mechanical design, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and diverse CAD tools, with responsibility

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including LV switchgear or power distribution products.
• Senior technical leadership across multiple NPI programs or product launches.
• Advanced CAD proficiency with 3D CAD platforms and design release discipline.
• Knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, IEC 61439, NEMA, IEEE C37.20.1, ANSI/IEEE switchgear standards.

Responsabilidades

• Own and govern LV switchgear mechanical architecture across programs.
• Translate requirements into scalable engineering specifications and roadmaps.
• Lead system-level architecture decisions for enclosure, busbar, insulation, and related hardware.
• Define mechanical design criteria including tolerances, GD&T, sheet metal, and coatings.
• Guide concept development, prototype builds, verification, pilot production, and production release.
• Provide technical direction for thermal engineering activities and validation testing.
• Drive decisions affecting cost, manufacturability, safety, and reliability.
