Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Principal Engineer for LV switchgear mechanical design in Prince George, VA. You will lead mechanical architecture, define specifications, and guide cross-functional teams through concept to production.

The role requires senior leadership across multiple programs, TD design rules, and compliance with UL/IEC standards. Travel and collaboration across global teams are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience in LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, or power distribution.
• Demonstrated senior technical leadership across multiple NPI programs or product launches.
• Advanced CAD proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent 3D CAD platforms, including complex assemblies and design release discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern the mechanical architecture strategy for LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate requirements into scalable engineering specifications and roadmaps.
• Lead system-level mechanical decisions for enclosures, busbar systems, and safety features.
• Define mechanical design criteria including GD&T, tolerances, and assembly interfaces.
• Drive design transfer, manufacturing readiness reviews, and post-launch support.
