Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, VA seeks a Lead Engineer – Low Voltage Switchgear Mechanical to head the mechanical design and development of LV switchgear and power distribution products. You will own execution from concept through production release, aligning with customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, quality, and cost targets.

The role leads enclosure architecture, DFx initiatives, and thermal design, coordinating across global teams and ensuring compliance with UL/IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with 5+ years in LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, or power distribution products.
• Proven technical leadership on mechanical engineering execution from concept to production release.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and related equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and deliverables.
• Lead enclosure systems, mechanical interlocks, and thermal design to meet safety and reliability targets.
• Drive DFx initiatives (DFM, DFA, DFR, DfA) and oversee qualification testing.
• Collaborate with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory.
