The Atlantic District in Arlington, VA is seeking a Principal Insurance Agent to lead a Farmers agency, driving growth, operations, and client service. You will shape strategy, manage day-to-day activities, and build lasting relationships with neighbors and business owners.

This role offers ownership of the agency’s direction, collaboration with underwriting partners, and a culture that values curiosity, empathy, and long-term success.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Property and Casualty license is required.
• Minimum of five years of experience managing personal lines or commercial insurance accounts.
• Understanding of underwriting guidelines and risk assessment.
• Experience with agency management software and digital filing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand our client base in the Arlington area.
• Lead consultations to identify coverage gaps and offer solutions.
• Serve as the primary contact for complex accounts with excellent client service.
• Collaborate with underwriting partners to negotiate favorable terms for clients.
• Mentor junior team members with market insights and client communication techniques.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance across agency documentation.
