Job summary

SCA Health in Dallas is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for PreOp PACU to support the perioperative care continuum, assess patients preoperatively and postoperatively, and ensure safe anesthesia recovery with appropriate monitoring. The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, active RN licensure, and PACU or preoperative experience.

BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications may be required within defined timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience.
• Current state RN licensure in good standing.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient preoperative and postoperative status according to policies.
• Describe pathophysiology of common disease processes.
• Develop perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement plans including recovery from anesthesia and PACU care.
• Provide hand-off reports and education to patients and staff.
• Maintain patient safety and privacy throughout perianesthesia care.
