Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (RN).
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing; BLS/BCLS and ACLS (and PALS when pediatric care is included) within stipulated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient status preop and postop as per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic, pain and mental status.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors accurately.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases relevant to perioperative care.
• Apply scoring systems and discharge criteria per policy (e.g., Aldrete, PARSAP, PADSS).
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia across various modalities; coordinate positioning, protection, and safety.
• Provide handoffs, document care, and educate patients and families as needed.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with clinic policies and participate in performance improvement.
