Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for PreOp and PACU roles. The RN will assess preoperative and postoperative status, interpret monitors, and develop individualized perioperative plans of care.

This role requires strong knowledge of postoperative recovery protocols and patient education to support a safe anesthesia process. Successful candidates will have an Accredited Nursing degree, current RN licensure, and BLS; ACLS and PALS are required for pediatric care where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required
• Medical / surgical nursing experience
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days or current certification.
• ACLS within 90 days or current certification.
• PALS if pediatric care included within 90 days or current certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Apply perioperative scoring and discharge criteria.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement plans including recovery from anesthesia across modalities.
• Provide patient education and involve patient in decisions.
• Transfer care with accurate hand-off reports to teammates.
