Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) in PreOp PACU to support our ambulatory surgery centers. You will assess patients preoperatively and postoperatively, ensure safe anesthesia recovery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality perianesthesia care.

The role requires nursing graduation, state licensure, and certifications (BLS/BCLS, ACLS; PALS for pediatric care). You’ll work on a comprehensive care plan, document care, and participate in performance

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure to practice in good standing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• ACLS, BLS/BCLS certifications required within designated timeframe.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included, within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures.
• Interpret information from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
• Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement the plan of care including recovery management across anesthesia modalities.
• Provide hand-off report to teammates with accurate, concise information.
• Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
• Collaborate effectively with other disciplines and participate in quality review and performance improvement.

Education
