Job summary

SCA Health is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for PreOp PACU to support preoperative and postoperative care within our healthcare facilities in the United States. The role emphasizes patient assessment, safety, and perianesthetic planning in a dynamic perioperative environment.

The successful candidate will have RN licensure, at least one year of PreOp or PACU experience, and current BLS/BCLS (and ACLS/PALS if applicable).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice with good standing. Successful completion of BLS or BCLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• PALS required if pediatric care is included within scope, within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies to include cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort, and mental status.
• Interpret information from monitors accurately.
• Describe pathophysiology of diseases and physiology of anesthesia techniques.
• Develop and implement an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Perform perioperative care interventions and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Communicate patient status during perioperative care and provide education to patient and family.
• Provide hand-off reports and collaborate with the care team.
• Maintain patient rights, dignity and privacy; protect against infection; pursue professional growth.
