Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join its Hastings, Michigan Tool Room. You will build, repair, modify, and maintain dies, molds, fixtures, and production tooling for high-volume manufacturing, ensuring precision and reliability.

The role requires reading engineering drawings and CAD prints, operating manual and CNC equipment, and performing precision surface grinding. This full-time position offers competitive pay ($33.00 - $38.00 per hour DOE) with shift premiums and

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with relevant industrial experience.
Completion of Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship, or 8+ years of tooling experience.
Experience building and repairing dies, fixtures, molds, and tooling.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD prints.
Experience operating manual and CNC tool room equipment.

Responsibilities

Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
Interpret drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and specs to plan machining.
Set up and run manual machines and CNC tool room equipment.
Perform precision surface grinding and ensure tight tolerances.
Install, test, and troubleshoot tooling during production trials.
Maintain tool room cleanliness and safety.
