Job summary

Your Talent Team represents a global manufacturer seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their Hastings, Michigan facility. You will build, repair, modify, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling for high-volume production, interpreting drawings and CAD prints to plan precise machining and assembly.

You will operate manual machines and CNC tool room equipment, perform precision surface grinding, troubleshoot tooling failures, and contribute to continuous improvement while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; apprenticeship preferred.
• 4+ years Toolmaker experience or 8+ years progressive toolmaking in manufacturing.
• Experience building/repairing dies, molds, fixtures, and tooling.
• Ability to read blueprints/CAD prints and interpret specs.
• Experience with manual and CNC tool room equipment; precision measuring.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume production.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints; plan machining sequences.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and CNC tool room equipment.
• Perform precision surface grinding and verify dimensions with metrology tools.
• Assemble tooling components and inspect against drawings and tolerances.
• Diagnose tooling failures, perform repairs, and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe Tool Room and support continuous improvement.
• Assist with project work and provide technical support as needed.
