Job summary

Our client in Hastings, Michigan, is seeking experienced Toolmakers to join the Tool Room team. The role focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining precision dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling in a modern facility.

You will interpret engineering drawings and CAD prints, plan machining sequences, and perform precision machining with tight tolerances. Shift options include 2nd and 3rd shifts, with a competitive hourly rate and premiums.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with recognized Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Proven ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints and specs.
• Experience building and repairing production dies, fixtures, molds and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
• Interpret drawings, CAD prints, and specs to determine machining methods and material needs.
• Plan and perform precision machining, bench work, and finishing of tooling components with tight tolerances.
• Set up, operate, and maintain mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Inspect tooling for dimensional accuracy and compliance with specs.
• Diagnose tooling failures and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe Tool Room and support continuous improvement initiatives.
