Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Moody, AL is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist (2nd shift) to operate large lathes and oversee setup and precision finishing. This onsite role requires reading blueprints, selecting tools, and ensuring tolerances as tight as .0005".

You will join a team focused on craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency, with a $3 shift differential and retention/relocation bonus opportunities. Typical shifts Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, 100% onsite at Moody facility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a machinist or operator.
• 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints.
• 1+ years operating King-style boring mills or vertical turning lathes.
• Able to safely use precision measuring tools as required.
• Willing to work 2nd shift and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operate large lathes.
• Read blueprints and use micrometers, calipers, and indicators to verify tolerances.
• Maintain tolerances as tight as .0005" when required.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and determine speeds/feeds for surface finish.
• Cross-train across fabrication, assembly, and other areas as needed.
