You will read blueprints, select cutting tools, and determine speeds and feeds to achieve high-quality surface finishes. The position is onsite in Moody, AL, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:30pm.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a machine operator/machinist.
• 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints.
• 1+ year on king style boring mills (or VTIs).
• Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.

Responsibilities

• Set up large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operate large vertical and horizontal lathes for repairs.
• Interpret blueprints to determine critical dimensions and use precision measuring tools.
• Maintain low tolerances as tight as 0.0005 inches when required.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and determine speeds/feeds for surface finish.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work; operate forklift and overhead crane safely.
