Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Moody, AL is seeking a Manual Machinist for the 2nd shift (4x10s) with a $3.00 per hour differential and bonus opportunities. The role is on-site, requiring 3+ years of machining and blueprint-reading skills, plus experience with King-style boring mills or vertical turning lathes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a machine operator/Machinist.
• 2+ or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• 1+ years of experience operating King-style boring mills and/or vertical turning lathes (VTLs).
• Ability to effectively and safely use a variety of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors.
• Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions and tolerances, with precision instruments.
• Maintain low tolerances as indicated by specifications or drawings, down to .0005 inches.
• Selects appropriate cutting tools and determines speeds and feeds for proper surface finish.
• Overtime may be required; typically weekdays and occasionally weekends.
