Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist for the 2nd shift at our Moody, AL facility. You will perform setups, operate large lathes, and maintain tight tolerances while ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machine setup and machine controls.
• 3+ years of experience as a machine operator/Machinist.
• 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints.
• 1+ years operating King-style boring mills or VTLs.

Responsibilities

• Sets up large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operates large lathes to repair/overhaul pumps and compressors.
• Reads blueprints and uses micrometers, calipers, and indicators to ensure tolerances.
• Maintains tight tolerances down to .0005" when required.
• Selects cutting tools and determines speeds/feeds for surface finish.
• Overtime may be required, including weekends.
• Operates forklift and overhead crane, following EH&S and QMS processes.
• Lifts and rigs heavy components and assists in disassembly/reassembly and rebuilds.
• Opportunity to cross-train in fabrication, assembly, and rotor balancing.
