Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to support program execution across the nation for multiple data center campuses. You will act as the primary liaison between Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, and other partner teams to provide schedule forecasting, budgeting, and constructability guidance from planning through design development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction or project management experience.
• Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.

Responsibilities

• Possess a foundational knowledge of critical data center equipment (Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Transformers, Power Feeders & Busduct, Chillers, Plumbing, Fire Detection/Suppression, AHU/CRAC).
• Perform constructability reviews of critical scopes and drive improvements in baseline.
• Perform build phasing evaluations in civil, structural, electrical fields for potential sites.
• Determine and communicate site requirements impacting schedule, cost, and delivery.
• Conduct negotiations with land sellers, developers, general contractors and evaluate bids and scoping documents.
• Manage GC and other third-party vendors delivering preconstruction services during design phase.
• Define construction scopes and issue RFPs to General Contractors; review bid summaries and milestones.
• Support issuance of contracting documents (Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Letters).
• Develop handoff project documentation to Construction Manager partners.
• Collect, evaluate, and share lessons learned to improve the program.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
