Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to support the nationwide execution of a Pre-Construction program across multiple campuses. You will serve as the primary liaison between Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, and other partner teams to forecast schedules, manage budgets, and provide constructability guidance from planning through design development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction or project management experience.
• Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.

Responsibilities

• Possess a foundational knowledge of data center equipment (generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, power feeders & busduct, chillers, plumbing, fire detection/suppression, AHUs, CRAC units).
• Perform constructability reviews of critical scopes for new data center builds and drive baseline improvements.
• Evaluate civil, structural, electrical phasing for potential sites.
• Define site requirements impacting schedule, cost, deliverables, and integration with surroundings.
• Negotiate with land sellers, developers, and general contractors; evaluate bids and proposals.
• Manage GC and third-party vendors delivering preconstruction services during design.
• Define construction scopes and issue RFPs; review bid summaries and schedules.
• Support contracting documents issuance (WO, PO, Work Letters).
• Develop handoff documentation for CM partners.
• Capture lessons learned to improve program delivery.
