Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to serve as a technical authority for power distribution, hardware development, and systems engineering within the OneMHS program for global fulfillment centers. You will drive standardization, safety, and scalability across material handling applications.

The role requires deep expertise in 3-phase power design, arc flash studies, NEC/NFPA compliance, AutoCAD Electrical and power tools, and collaboration with WWDE, Operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 4+ years of power systems design experience
• Experience with large-scale material handling systems
• Arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical (2010+)
• Willingness to travel up to 30%

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution for material handling
• Design and specify MDBs, PDPs, and substations with proper sizing and protection coordination
• Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and power distribution schematics
• Perform power quality, arc flash, and coordination studies for reliability and safety
• Select transformers, switchgear, breakers, and bus ducts
• Develop modular, scalable distribution systems prioritizing reliability and maintainability
• Establish best practices for panel placement, grounding, and safety circuit design
• Prepare A/E drawing sets and coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil teams
• Manage drawing revisions and as-built documentation
