Job summary
Amazon.com LLC - A03 seeks an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to drive power distribution standards for material handling systems across Amazon's global fulfillment network. You will lead 3-phase power system design, MDBs/PDPs, arc flash studies, and drawings, interfacing with WWDE and operations teams to deliver scalable, safe, and reliable hardware solutions.
This role requires deep technical expertise in power systems, design standards, and cross-functional project delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in power systems design, electrical engineering, and/or hardware development.
- Experience with large-scale mechanical and power systems.
- Proficiency in arc flash calculations and hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
- Familiarity with NEC/ NFPA 70 code and electrical safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and power distribution for material handling.
- Design and specify MDBs, PDPs, and substations with proper sizing and protection coordination.
- Develop single-line diagrams and panel schedules for facility power needs.
- Perform arc flash calculations and hazard analysis; determine PPE categories.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated designs and constructability.
