Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Power & Hardware Design Engineer to lead power systems, standards, and hardware development for its material handling networks. You will design 3-phase power systems, MDBs, PDPs, and substations, and drive safety, reliability, and scalability across global fulfillment centers.

You will perform arc flash analyses, prepare A/E drawing sets, collaborate with WWDE and Operations, mentor engineers, and contribute to long-range roadmaps within the OneMHS program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in power systems design and hardware development for large-scale material handling systems.
• Experience with MDBs, PDPs, and electrical substations; arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584/NFPA 70E.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution.
• Develop MDBs, PDPs, and substations with proper sizing, protection coordination, and code compliance.
• Perform power quality analysis, fault current studies, and coordination studies.
• Create single-line diagrams, power distribution schematics, and panel schedules.
• Perform arc flash calculations and labeling; ensure proper PPE categorization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize specifications and drive program success.
