Job summary

Morton Buildings, Inc. is seeking a Construction Service Crew Member in Kansas to repair and maintain buildings, promote a positive customer experience, and support safety and quality on the jobsite.

You will read construction plans, perform repairs (doors, roofing, siding, footings), operate hand tools, and work in varying weather. This role requires up to 30% travel and hourly pay of $21.00–$23.00, plus bonuses and ESOP.

Qualifications

• Building construction, carpentry or framing experience preferred (on the job or in school).
• Willingness to participate in and complete a training program.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Available to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season.
• Ability to take direction.
• Produce quality work in an efficient manner.
• Agree to comply with all our safety processes and procedures.
• Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe manner.
• Ability to operate specialized safety equipment and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Capable of working at heights up to 40 feet.
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• This position requires 30% travel including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Learn, apply safety and construction procedures and standards on every job.
• Read, understand and build according to construction plans.
• Perform repairs and tasks to complete a quality building (doors, roofing, siding, footings, windows, etc.).
• Operate hand tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule and various weather conditions.
• Work with crew to maintain a safe, productive environment.
• Troubleshoot problems and adapt to different repairs.
• Be open to advancement and plan daily activities.
