Job summary

City of Lincoln is seeking a POS Field Service Technician to travel to multiple Abilene, TX retail locations and provide onsite technical support for POS devices and applications.

You will diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, install and configure POS systems, and perform functionality testing to ensure full operation across stores. Strong communication and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and troubleshooting POS devices.
• Experience installing and configuring applications on POS systems.
• Strong hardware, software, and basic networking troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage visits to multiple locations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel approximately 100 miles daily.
• Good communication, documentation, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple store locations around Abilene, TX.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues onsite.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot POS devices and peripherals.
• Install and update applications on POS systems.
• Document the work performed and provide timely updates.
• Coordinate with remote support when escalation is required.
• Maintain professional communication with store staff and coordinators.
