Job summary

Ferguson in Seattle seeks a knowledgeable, results-driven Counter Sales Associate to support our plumbing and HVAC contractor customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, using product expertise to help customers make informed purchasing decisions aligned with our sales strategy. Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m. You will engage customers at the counter, by phone and email, learn products, upsell where appropriate, and ensure accurate orders, deliveries and inventory control

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in customer service or sales.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals, build relationships and influence purchasing decisions.
• Strong communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Digital literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers proactively at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as product expert by learning and applying knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and related products to guide decisions.
• Drive sales growth by upselling, cross-selling and promoting strategic products and programs.
• Utilize catalogs, computer systems and manufacturer databases to locate parts and provide accurate information.
