Job summary

Akamai Technologies invites a Platform Operations Engineer to join the Change Safety Deployment team within Global Performance and Operations. You will drive change safety across a high-availability network, troubleshoot complex issues, and streamline workflows to prevent incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent.
• Experience administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high-availability platform.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, SQL and scripting languages.
• Strong knowledge of network technologies and internet protocols (TCP/IP, WAN, DNS).
• Team player with ability to collaborate, prioritize and solve problems in a changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to articulate technical information clearly.
• Must be able to undergo or possess a USG Tier 3 background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in the platform.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance change safety.
• Improve tooling, alerts, documentation and procedures related to change safety.
• Maintain positive relationships across teams.
• Collaborate with the Change Safety Optimization team to standardize workflows.
• Work 4:30pm–12:30am ET, Monday to Friday, in the Cambridge, MA office.
