Job summary

Akamai powers and protects life online. The Platform Operations Engineer will own change safety across our high-availability network, troubleshooting complex issues and driving efficiency improvements from Cambridge, MA.

You'll collaborate with a global Change Safety Optimization team, support Linux/Unix systems, TCP/IP/DNS networking, and scripting, while participating in a flexible hybrid work program and a US-based office schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or its equivalent.
• Experience administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform.
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix, SQL, and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in the area of specialty.
• Identify and implement process improvements for change safety.
• Improve tools, alerts, docs, and procedures to enhance change safety.
• Maintain positive relationships across teams.
• Collaborate with the global Change Safety Optimization team to standardize workflows.
• Work 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM EST, Monday to Friday, in Cambridge, MA office for the first six months, with possible 50/50 hybrid later.
