Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to focus on change safety for our high-availability platform. You will troubleshoot complex issues, enhance processes, and improve tooling while maintaining strong cross-team collaboration.

The role starts in Cambridge, MA, with a 4:30 PM–12:30 AM EST schedule for the first six months and potential hybrid work afterward. Qualified candidates need a Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Linux/Unix experience, and knowledge of SQL and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant related technical field or its equivalent.
• Experience administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems and understanding of SQL and scripting languages.
• Experience with network technologies and internet protocols such as TCP/IP, WAN and DNS.
• Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in an ever-changing environment.
• Excellent communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and customers.
• Must undergo or possess and maintain a successfully adjudicated USG Tier 3 background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in area of specialty.
• Identifying and implementing process and efficiency improvements in favor of change safety.
• Improving tools, alerts, documentations, and procedures in favor of change safety.
• Maintaining positive relationships across the teams.
• Collaborating with our global Change Safety Optimization team to maintain consistent workflows across the group.
• Working 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM Eastern Standard Time on Monday through Friday in the Cambridge, Massachusetts office for the first six months and can be 50% office and 50% remote after.
