Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to own change safety within the Change Safety Deployment team of GPO Solutions. The role focuses on deploying large-scale changes across networks safely, while improving processes, tools and workflows.

Based in Cambridge, MA, you will work 4:30pm–12:30am EST and collaborate with global teams to reduce incidents and enhance reliability. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, experience with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant related technical field or its equivalent.
Experience administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment.
Experience with Linux/Unix, SQL and scripting languages.
Knowledge of network technologies and internet protocols (TCP/IP, WAN, DNS).
Strong collaboration, prioritization and problem-solving skills in a changing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Must be able to undergo USG Tier 3 background investigation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in the area of specialty.
Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements in favor of change safety.
Improve tools, alerts, documentation, and procedures to support change safety.
Maintain positive relationships across teams and coordinate with the Change Safety Optimization group.
Collaborate with global teams to maintain consistent workflows for change safety.
Work 4:30pm–12:30am EST, Monday to Friday at the Cambridge, MA office.
