Job summary

CVS Health in HR Technology is seeking a dynamic Engineering Leader to guide cross-functional teams responsible for multi-cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and internal platforms. You will shape platform strategy, drive operational excellence, and advance security and reliability across the software lifecycle.

The Lead Director will mentor engineers, manage cloud budgets, and collaborate with product and architecture to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading large software programs and engineering initiatives.
• 8+ years leading teams in a matrix organization.
• 4+ years partnering with architecture, product, and PMO to influence development.
• 4+ years leading discovery sessions, workshops, and enablement activities.
• 2+ years in a leadership role coordinating across software teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Platform strategy across Architecture, Product owners, and AppDev teams.
• Build and scale internal platforms, golden paths, and self-service tools to reduce developer cognitive load and improve experience.
• Scale CI/CD pipelines, IaC, GitOps, and DevSecOps to embed security and observability into delivery pipelines.
• Partner with product, architecture, and stakeholders to design scalable, cost-effective technical solutions and enterprise integrations.
• Mentor and lead cross-functional teams; manage cloud spend, vendor negotiations, and resource forecasting.
• Track engineering productivity and reliability metrics (e.g., DORA metrics) while managing cloud costs and compliance.
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML tools and cloud-native services into the Platform and delivery lifecycle.
