Job summary

CVS Health in HR Technology is seeking a dynamic Engineering Leader to guide cross-functional teams building multi-cloud infrastructure, DevOps, internal platforms, and AI-enabled solutions. The role emphasizes platform strategy, operational excellence, and cost optimization across the software lifecycle.

The Lead Director will mentor engineers, manage budgets, and drive governance with strong communication and execution focus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading large software programs and reporting to Senior Leaders.
• 8+ years leading teams in a matrix organization.
• 4+ years partnering with architecture, product and PMO teams in product development.
• 4+ years leading discovery sessions, workshops, demos, onboarding sessions.
• 2+ years in a leadership role coordinating cross-functional software teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the Platform strategy and delivery with Architecture, Technical Product owners and AppDev teams.
• Build and scale internal platforms, golden paths, and self-service tools to lower developer cognitive load.
• Scale CI/CD pipelines, IaC, GitOps, and DevSecOps to embed security and observability.
• Partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to design scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
• Mentor and lead cross-functional teams of Engineers, DevOps, and SRE; manage cloud spend budgets.
• Track engineering productivity and reliability metrics (e.g., DORA, deployment frequency, MTTR) while ensuring cost control.
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML tools and cloud-native services into platforms and delivery.
