Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a Plasma Donor Technician to execute venipuncture procedures and oversee plasmapheresis operations. The role emphasizes maintaining donor safety, accurate documentation, and adherence to FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, collecting plasma, calibrating machines, and sustaining a clean work area, while delivering excellent donor service and adhering to confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
• Maintain high donor service and positive experience per company values.
• Stock and replenish supplies to meet production needs and keep a clean environment.
• Review donor IDs and maintain confidentiality per SOPs.
• Prepare venipuncture and plasmapheresis supplies; label units and samples accurately.
• Perform venipunctures and plasma collection with high quality and safety.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms and document exceptions.
• Monitor donor safety and plasma product quality; ensure donor comfort.
• Maintain safety ratio, discard biohazard waste per safety protocols.
• Calibrate and maintain plasmapheresis machines; remove/replace equipment as needed.
• Maintain logs and report unsafe situations to management.
• Improve training efficiency and ensure timeliness and compliance.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform QC checks.
