Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. seeks a plasma collection technician to perform venipuncture and plasmapheresis with a strong emphasis on safety and donor care.

You will ensure compliance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP while maintaining clean workspaces and accurate records. The role requires attention to donor identification, sample labeling, and machine operation, including alarm response and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three (3) months' experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent.
• Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP).
• Maintain a high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
• Stock and replenish supplies to meet production needs and maintain a clean, professional work environment.
• Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOPs.
• Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; label units and samples accurately.
• Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with high quality and safety.
• Operate the automated plasmapheresis machines and respond to alarms and events.
• Monitor donor conditions to ensure donor safety and plasma quality.
• Maintain proper safety and sanitation and dispose of biohazard waste per protocols.
• Calibrate and maintain plasmapheresis equipment; replace as needed.
• Maintain thorough documentation including machine logs and report unsafe conditions.
• Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform daily/monthly QC on equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
