Plasma Donor Screening Specialist

Job summary

CSL is seeking personnel to greet donors at a plasma collection center, conduct registrations for donor suitability, and assist in screening procedures per SOPs. The role includes health history review, basic questions, and health screenings such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature, plus finger-stick sampling.

The position involves helping educate donors about the donation process, nutrition, center policies, and any hyperimmune programs if applicable.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and register them for suitability screening.
• Assist qualified donors in completing screening procedures per SOPs, including health history, basic medical questions, and health screening tests.
• Explain the donation process, center policies, nutrition, and other information to educate donors as trained.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as needed after training.
• Answer phones and direct inquiries to appropriate staff when necessary.
• Monitor donor reactions during or after pheresis and alert staff as required.
• Escalate donor flow issues to the Group Leader or Supervisor.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies on hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available, following HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor, personnel, and center information.
• May cross-train in other areas and the role may require bilingual skills as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
