Job summary

CSL Plasma Center in Tulsa, OK is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to collect plasma via pheresis. You will set up donors, monitor the procedure, and ensure donor safety and compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.

You will document donor data, educate donors, handle equipment issues, and maintain a clean, safe work environment while supporting center operations, including potential bilingual duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum twelve (12) months of experience in a medical or health care environment.
• External CSL Plasma DST training for internal applicants; external candidates: minimum 6 months as a phlebotomist; one year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection per SOPs.
• Perform venipuncture to begin the pheresis process.
• Evaluate vein performance and adjust to expedite donation and ensure safety.
• Educate donors on screening, tests, appointment system, donation fees, policies, nutrition.
• Monitor donors for reactions and respond promptly.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis (alarms, events).
• Calibrate and verify maintenance per SOPs; respond to alarms.
• Troubleshoot equipment; replace components as needed.
• Monitor donor flow to ensure turnover; report issues.
• Collect arm or blood samples for testing.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain clean work environment and supplies; follow HSE/OSHA.
