Job summary

CSL is seeking staff at a plasma donation center in Raleigh, NC to greet donors and guide them through registration and screening for plasma pheresis. You will assist with health history checks, basic medical questions, and perform health screenings such as BP, pulse, weight, and finger-stick hematocrit/protein levels.

The role includes educating donors on the donation process and products after training, handling donor questions, and maintaining accurate records in the donor information system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process per SOPs, including health history assessment, basic medical questions, and performing health screening procedures like blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature; perform finger sticks for hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Educate donors on the use of therapeutic products from donated plasma after training, including screening tests, appointment system, center policies, nutrition, and other donor information.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as needed based on training and center needs.
• Answer telephone calls or route callers to appropriate staff.
• Monitor donors for reactions during or after pheresis and alert staff as needed.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-supplied work environment and follow HSE/OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas to meet business needs; bilingual skills may be required.
