Job summary

Dow's Emulsions/Polymers production facility in Knoxville, TN, seeks an Operations Performance Engineer to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency across the plant. You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S and other functions to optimize performance and deliver high-quality products.

This role offers hands-on technical leadership, exposure to MET basics, and opportunities to drive continuous improvement while maintaining strict environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering by January 2027 is required.
• Chemical or mechanical engineering discipline is preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking will be considered.
• No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the operations team applying problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
• Apply MET and use process automation to optimize plant performance.
• Diagnose root causes of asset utilization losses and document actions.
• Lead on-call rotations and respond to plant issues.
• Provide leadership in Raw Material Efficiency and yield/waste optimization.
• Ensure compliance with plant operating permits and site integration.
• Partner with SMEs and Technology Center for advanced troubleshooting.
• Review daily KPI trends to drive optimal performance.
