Job summary

Dow's Emulsions/Polymers production facility in Knoxville, TN has an opening for an Operations Performance Engineer. You will help the plant deliver value through EH&S excellence, reliability, efficiency, and cost control, spanning multiple technical and operational areas.

Join a collaborative team by partnering with Operations, Maintenance, and EH&S to optimize performance, resolve complex challenges, and enable safe, reliable production of quality products.

Qualifications

• Must have obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering by January 2027.
• Previous experience in a chemical production facility is preferred.
• Previous experience in coatings is preferred.
• U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship is required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the operations team leveraging problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
• Elevate knowledge of the plant and technology, referencing historical data and SMEs.
• Ensure MET is understood and process automation is used to optimize performance.
• Use MET and escalate when better solutions arise.
• Partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve operating discipline.
• Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses.
• Understand why procedures are needed and maintain strong field presence.
• Review logbooks and alarm history daily to understand plant operation.
• Maintain daily KPI trends to ensure optimum performance.
• Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies.
• Provide leadership and optimization in Raw Material Efficiency, including yield or waste.
• Ensure compliance with operating permits and optimize overall system.
