Job summary

Dow is seeking an Operations Performance Engineer for its Emulsions/Polymers site in Knoxville, TN. The role focuses on EH&S excellence, reliability, efficiency, and cost improvements across the plant, with exposure to multiple technical areas and close collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and EH&S teams.

The candidate will optimize performance, apply MET, manage KPI trends, and lead corrective actions during plant events, while supporting safety and compliance in a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree by January 2027; Chemical or mechanical engineering preferred; military equivalence considered.
• Previous experience in a chemical production facility is preferred.
• Previous experience in coatings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with operations to optimize plant performance and reliability.
• Reference MET knowledge and use process automation as a tool to improve efficiency.
• Diagnose root causes of asset utilization losses and implement corrective actions.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Technology Center and SMEs.
• Maintain daily KPI trends and respond to plant issues and emergencies.
• Act as technical expert during unplanned events and drive preventative actions.
• Support Raw Material Efficiency improvements including yield and waste reduction.
• Ensure compliance with plant operating permits and site integration.
