Job summary

Dow's Emulsions/Polymers production facility in Knoxville, TN has an opening for an Operations Performance Engineer. You will drive EH&S excellence, reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction across the plant, working across Operations, Maintenance, and EH&S to optimize performance.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of technical and operational areas, opportunities to develop leadership, and to apply MET principles and process automation to deliver safe, quality products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering by Jan 2027; chemical or mechanical preferred.
• Military equivalent considered in lieu of degree (US E5 or Canadian PO2/Sergeant).
• Experience in chemical production facilities preferred; coatings exposure helpful.
• US work eligibility required; no visa sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations to apply technical knowledge and problem-solving.
• reference data with SMEs and Technology Center; apply MET concepts.
• Use process automation as a tool to optimize plant performance.
• Diagnose asset utilization losses and document root causes.
• Maintain daily KPI reviews and trending for optimal performance.
• Respond swiftly to plant issues and emergencies; support on-call.
• Lead, diagnose, and implement corrective/preventive actions during events.
• Support Raw Material Efficiency improvements, including yield and waste reductions.
• Ensure compliance with operating permits and site integration considerations.
