Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company seeks a Maintenance Manager to supervise maintenance repairs and preventive programs for plant equipment. This role oversees maintenance staff, coordinates with multiple departments, and manages capital expenditures with a focus on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include planning major shutdowns, supervising contractors, and ensuring compliance with MSHA and EPA regulations. A 4-year engineering degree and 5+ years in cement manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• 4 year/Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cement manufacturing facility with management responsibilities.
• Proficient in English written, verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to lead/manage others and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and ensures adherence to all plant safety guidelines.
• Sets job responsibilities, goals, and performance standards for Maintenance Department staff.
• Coordinates with other departments on maintenance projects and priorities.
• Plans and supervises maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
• Develops and executes major shutdown schedules and post-shutdown reviews.
• Oversees all aspects of the maintenance department and budget.
• Evaluates performance and merit increase recommendations.
• Coordinates with contractors for repairs and equipment replacements.
• Meets with vendors to discuss new maintenance equipment and supplies.
• Supports plant safety and environmental programs.
• Works with Plant Manager on priorities and project schedules.
• Maintains records and reports for maintenance projects and budgets.
• Ensures MSHA and EPA regulations are followed in daily work.
• Assists in annual budget development and capital project documentation.
• Trains new department staff and provides ongoing training.
