Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking a Physical Design Engineer for Silicon One Optics in the United States. You will own end-to-end physical design from RTL to GDSII for 800G/1.6T transceivers and driver ICs, collaborating with RTL, Analog, DFT, and CAD teams to ensure first-pass silicon success.

You will drive floorplanning, tape-out, and sign-off across advanced nodes, leveraging TCL/Python automation to improve QoR and throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelors + 8 years related experience, or Masters + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years
• Experience in ASIC/SoC physical design in advanced tech nodes
• Hands-on with full physical design flow at block/chip level
• Experience with EDA tool flows, back-end sign-off criteria, and automation using Python, TCL, and Shell scripts

Responsibilities

• Lead RTL-to-GDSII physical design across advanced nodes with floorplanning and signoff (STA, IR/EM, PV)
• Architect and scale digital implementation flows using TCL/Python; optimize QoR and turnaround time
• Coordinate cross-functional design with RTL, Analog, DFT, Packaging and CAD to resolve bottlenecks
