Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc is seeking a Physical Design Engineer for the Silicon One Optics team. You will floorplan, tape out, and physically realize 800G/1.6T optical transceivers and driver ICs, shaping silicon photonics powering AI data centers.

You will own end-to-end physical design across complex nodes, collaborate with RTL/Analog/DFT teams, and drive signoff criteria to first-pass silicon success. This role offers exposure to world-scale hardware platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher with extensive related experience in ASIC/SoC physical design and implementation

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end RTL-to-GDSII physical design implementation across advanced nodes.
• Develop and optimize floorplanning, placement, routing, and signoff (STA, IR/EM, PV).
• Collaborate with RTL, Analog, DFT, Packaging, and CAD teams to resolve cross-domain bottlenecks.
